Louise Rapple Moore has been a devoted musician from childhood, learning piano from age six and singing in a Church choir from age seven. She studied Music and French at Reading University, specialising in performance. She studied conducting at the Conservatoire de Pau in the south of France and returned to direct the Reading University Singers for two years. She also organised Reading University’s weekly Lunchtime Concert Series.
After graduating, Louise took the position of Organist and Choir Director at St John’s Church in Crowthorne, and later moved to the same position at Christ Church, Reading. She started Tamesis in 2003 and has grown it into a close-knit, successful and high standard ensemble with an excellent local reputation.
Louise also directs Tamesis Cathedral Singers, an occasional choir which sings Cathedral Evensongs twice a year and a gorgeous annual Nine Lessons and Carols at Medmenham Church. She is a deputy conductor when called on by Thames Valley Gay Chorus, Goring Chamber Choir, Wantage Choral Society and the Twyford Singers.
Louise also works at Shiplake College. With support from the College, she started the Shiplake Community Choir for singers of all ages and abilities. It proved so popular that Louise set up the Hagbourne Community Choir on similar lines.
